Jean Huang

Jean Huang is Chief Executive Officer of H & L Computers, a leading regional technology provider of computing, hardware and software solutions, service and communications products. The company is headquartered in Hicksville, NY with branch offices and warehouses throughout New York City & Connecticut; H & L employs 75 full-time employees.

Huang started H & L in 1986 with her husband, Walter Lin, and has since grown the company to become the top, state-wide, exclusive wholesaler of Acer Computers, the largest computer manufacturer in Taiwan and fourth largest in the world.

Jean later formed a joint venture partnership with the parent company of Acer Computers, X Open LLC, as A Open America LLC to wholesale and distribute computer hardware and accessories to the educational and governmental sectors. Recently this joint venture has expanded to include other major and pioneering manufacturers to develop and market CCTV and DVR systems to the wholesale and government sectors.

In 2002 Jean formed Haier Home Appliances as the first outlet center in America for Haier International, which is the forth-largest home appliance manufacturer in the world.

Jean is also actively involved in real estate development with major landowners, developers and architects in the revitalization of downtown Flushing, Queens in New York City.

Huang was named the "Outstanding Woman in Business" in 1996 by the Asian Women in Business Association and “Outstanding 50 Chinese Americans in Business” in 2001 by the Asian American Business Development Center. She has served as a board member of the NY Wall Street Lion’s Club, Computer Association of North America and the Chinese Culture Association of Long Island.
