Change has Come to America: MBRT Congratulates President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joseph Biden

  • MBRT pledges it's support to work on the transition towards a new Administration and work with the leadership of a new Congress
  • Restore confidence in American financial markets and protect America's security, health, retirement, savings, housing, education and create more jobs for Americans

Washington, D.C. - Only in America-the American Dream has played out with the election of the 44th President of the United States-the first African American son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from the State of Kansas- in our history as a Nation.

“This historic Presidential election has demonstrated the will of the American people to look beyond race and the color of one’s skin to one of a new age of hope and progress”, said Janice Howroyd, Chairman of MBRT and CEO, Act-1 Group in Los Angeles. “The faces of Americans are changing and America’s policies must embrace our diverse cultural and ethnic heritage offering opportunities for all Americans. As we embrace and champion this change, we bring renewed commitment to our role in the World that the American spirit is strong and consistent!”

Minority communities across the United States now account for over 30% of the population. Within 25 years minorities will soon be the majority with Hispanics fueling the population surge rising from today’s 15% to 30%, Asians from 4% to 9% and African Americans from 14% to 15%.

“We share a common vision and platform to work together and build bridges towards economic growth and prosperity and must take action to inspire our youth to attain a quality education. With these goals, all things are possible”, said Roger A. Campos, President & CEO of MBRT. “We need to work with President-elect Obama and the next Congress to put Americans first to enact policies to help all Americans secure their future without the stress of seeing the equity loss in their homes or losing them in foreclosure, inadequate and rising healthcare costs, their retirement and savings disappearing, and our children receiving a quality, affordable education.”

These are challenging economic times ahead and we all need to stand together-Republicans and Democrats, Mayors and Governors, and elected leaders without political partisan bickering of the past that creates a bridge to nowhere.

President-elect Barack Obama said, “This is a chance to make the change and heal the divide that has held up our progress.”
